Empty type \mbox{\hyperlink{namespaceutl_1_1meta}{utl\+::meta}}\textquotesingle{}s nil type is not pure nil. It\textquotesingle{}s a recursive "de-\/referencable nil. Each time someone applies \+::type to it, he gets back \mbox{\hyperlink{structutl_1_1meta_1_1nil__}{nil\+\_\+}}. This way we can prevent a lot of compilation errors in a wrong meta\+:\+: handling.
